Isle of Man, Scotland Archipelago

Isle of Man, Scotland Archipelago

 Coasteering Through Isle of Man

On a friends and family cruise through Northern Europe, we stopped at a little port on Isle of Man in the Scotland archipelago. At the cleverly named Adventurous Experiences shop on Isle of Man, we traded our coats for wetsuits and donned helmets in place of beanies. We were off to the far edge of the island with a 40 year old adventurer who would take us on a strange sort of tour.

Once we reached the fjord cliffs, and rolled down to where the water crashes up against the black rock walls, we began our tour. We climbed up the 20 foot cliffs and jumped back into near freezing water, careful not to get smashed between the forceful waves and the jagged rock walls. As we made our way across the edge of the island, scaling the walls, our frozen toes and fingers began to loosen up, and I finally accepted the fact that this was the most dangerous thing I'd ever done, even scarier than skydiving!

Little did I know, we would go on to compete in even more life-threatening activities! See "Iceland, Northern Europe" for some more fun stories of this trip.
